What is Naturopathic Medicine

Naturopathic medicine is a system of primary care that emphasizes prevention, treatment, and optimal health by mindfully recognizing the interconnectedness of the body, mind, and spirit, and facilitating balance in these aspects of life through the application of a distinct set of therapeutic approaches to encourage an individual’s inherent self-healing process.  The naturopathic doctor is trained in a variety of modern and traditional, scientific, and empirical methods, which are judiciously applied based on the thorough gathering of patient health concerns, history, and crucial diagnostics.
The naturopathic medical system promotes the formation of a constructive partnership between practitioner and patient, which maximizes the impact of following the therapeutic order and inspires the patients’ independence and self-regulation for achieving and maintaining optimal health.

The current paradigm of healthcare is undergoing an evolution,
requiring doctors who:

  • Possess deep scientific knowledge while respecting the body's natural ability to heal itself.

  • Consider the entirety of the individual, delving beyond symptoms to identify the root cause of illness.

  • Prioritize disease prevention and the promotion of overall wellness.

  • Act as both educators and healers, guiding patients towards better health.

  • Aim to provide the gentlest interventions possible while encouraging optimal well-being.
